Inclusivity, Diversity, Equity, and Student Success

Inclusivity, Diversity, Equity, and Student Success (IDEASS) provides guidance to the Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs & Student Affairs, the President of the UW System, the Board of Regents, and UW System institutions in formulating, interpreting, and implementing policies related to a variety of student support areas. This charge is carried out by establishing and maintaining effective communication regarding academic policies and concerns, encouraging collaboration amongst the institutions as well as with external stakeholder constituencies, and serving as a liaison to other educational institutions and state agencies.

IDEASS takes a leadership role in and coordinates efforts for student support services such as informing students, prospective students, and others about educational opportunities and admission and transfer procedures; providing academic career advising; serving the particular needs of student veterans and students with disabilities; supporting the work of student affairs staff at the institutions on issues like Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse (AODA) and Sexual Violence Prevention; and staffing systemwide groups such as Chief Student Affairs Officers (CSAOs) and Student Representatives.
